Go Deeper Together: Becoming our Vision, Living out our Mission
The last few years I have sensed the Lord calling us at Asian Access to go deeper in who we are as we feel called to grow broader across Asia. As we went into our 2015 strategic planning process, my sense is that God wasn't calling us to anything profoundly new, but rather calling us to go deeper into the Essence of Asian Access, embodying the incredible vision, mission and values God has called us to achieve as we seek to expand the ministry across Japan and across now all of Asia.
With this 4-year theme in mind, we sensed God calling us to Go Deeper Together: Becoming our Vision and Living out our Mission.
To launch this endeavor, we held an incredible Spring Retreat in Japan and Leaders' Summit in Thailand in March. During these times, Dr. David Bennett and L.T. Jeyachandran led our devotions in this very theme. We couldn't have asked for richer expressions of what God is calling us to move forward in as we follow His lead across the continent of Asia.
Both men, complimented each other, without even knowing what the other would be sharing. It created a rich environment for us to grow deeper in Christ and deeper with one another. They both challenged us in this deeper journey pointing us back to one of our theme passages for this season of ministry: Psalm 1:
"Blessed is the man [whose]… delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers."
-- Psalm 1: 1, 3
We are striving "to see a vibrant community of servant leaders… unite the church, multiply leaders and congregations, and extend the transforming power of the Gospel" across Asia. But in order to achieve all that God has inspired for us, we realize it is crucial to grow deeper in Christ, in this vision and mission, and in our values.
Pray for us as we endeavor to grow deeper together to become all that Jesus wants us to be as He leads us to growth across Japan and across the entire continent of Asia.
