Last week one of my colleagues from one of the poorest nations in the world gave Asian Access $100 AUD - Australian dollars.
He and his wife had prayed about helping us reach our matching challenge of $1M from Asia (or those who had been born in Asia). He so believes in the work of A2 in his country that he wanted to help his brothers and sisters in other nations.
The backstory is even more moving… This same leader was recently re-assigned from a prominent position in his country to work in an area without any salary or benefits whatsoever. Their family already was in a tough financial position but now they find themselves even more challenge. Despite my concern for their finances, my colleague said, “We must give. We prayed and God told us to help out!” What a joy I saw on his face when I told him that every dollar he gave would be doubled because of our special matching challenge!
This act of incredible generosity challenged me to be even more generous… And, as the bible tells us:
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
— Luke 6:38
How does the giving of my friend challenge you?
Joe
