As you may already know, the national leaders for Asian Access are volunteers. While Asian Access raises funds to help underwrite the direct expenses for the programs, the national leaders donate their time and efforts, which they contribute over and above their full-time ministry responsibilities. What you may not know is that this is also true for Asian Access’ faculty. The men and women who invest in the lives of our leaders are also volunteers. They include veteran pastors, experienced missionaries, gifted community leaders who donate their time and talents to build into the lives of the Asian Access participants. One such faculty member is Mike Hoisington. For nearly 20 years, he has taught for Asian Access in at least 10 Asian countries. “I’m not good with dates or locations,” Mike told me with a grin. “I think it’s 10 countries.” (I wouldn’t be surprised if it were more.)...

Day One.12 blurPressures on Christians in many parts of Asia have never been greater. Government repression, religious extremism, and outright persecution are on the rise. But in spite of these pressures—or perhaps because of them--God continues to open doors to provide courageous leaders the opportunity to form new Asian Access movements. One such opportunity is happening right now. 19 leaders from a “closed” country are, even as we speak, sharing the issues and problems they face in their country with ADV (National Director for A2/Sri Lanka and Vice President for Partnership Development) and MAH (National Director for A2/Cambodia). ADV and MAH are facilitating an Orientation Session, giving these leaders a “taste” of the Asian Access learning community...

A2/Philippines Class 1 GraduationAj Moldez is a man of many talents, gifts, and callings. A landscape architect by trade, his Philippines-based firm is set up as a Business as Mission—designed to plant shalom and the presence of the gospel through landscape architecture and design. He also serves on the board of Peace Builders Community Inc., an NGO committed to working for peace with indigenous communities in conflict areas. And through PBC, he has helped to innovate Coffee for Peace, using coffee as a means to establish peace and shalom in conflict areas, tribes, and communities. What Aj is not is a pastor. So when his father, Rev. Herman Moldez, asked Aj to serve as a photographer for the “graduation ceremony for the Asian Access Philippines First Class”, Aj had no idea what he was getting into. It wasn’t until Aj arrived that he realized that his father was one of the graduates.

Deepening Sustainability by Developing More Asian Faculty

Many years of dreaming, strategizing, and planning were realized this past October when A2 held its first-ever international faculty development training in Bangkok, Thailand. Under the direction of Dr. Bob and Erlinda Betia, 34 men and women from 10 Asian Access countries buckled down for an intensive two days of training, designed to equip them to serve as Asian Access faculty—both within their own countries and throughout Asia...

Why A2?

Why are you serving with Asian Access?

The Kingdom of God on earth is expressed and advanced primarily through the Church. . . and the Church is expressed and advanced through the ministries of Godly, gifted leaders. A2 is one of the most effective ministries I know in growing, mentoring and supporting effective leaders in the most dynamic mission field of our time, Asia. I'm thrilled and humbled to join such an amazing team of men and women.
