From the President

An Exciting Story!

First off I just want to say “thank you” because many of you gave after the earthquake hit Nepal. It's been a real blessing to the people.

Silk and I had the privilege of traveling there. It's just amazing to see what God is doing. There’s a story where this Tibetan lama priest had come to Christ. His job was to prepare the bodies for burial. He had always wondered what really happens to this person after they die.

Along the way his wife became deathly ill, and nothing they could do could help her out. They tried everything—they tried Buddhist practices and shamanistic practices. They went to the doctors. But nothing helped. Everyone said, “She is going to die.”

Their daughter ended up traveling by the roadside, past one of the homes that our friends run for rescued girls from the streets and from all sorts of difficult situations. She saw so much joy in those girls that she was compelled to go play with them, and they ended up inviting her to their church. They really blessed her, and so she went to her father was a Tibetan lama and said:

“Dad, you’ve got to come to this church. It’s really really good. Please come. Please come.”

He initially refused. But a few times later, he finally relented, and he took his wife with them. And what happened was amazing—his wife was healed that very night, and he ended up coming to Christ because of that experience. That led him on a journey with our friends to be discipled for a year.

And the day that we were in a church there, our friend was at this first church where this guy was going to be a pastor. I got to actually meet him, and he told me the story of his heart breaking for the people in the countrysides in the villages all throughout the mountains that have no witness for Christ, no church in their presence. His vision—as a one-year-old believer and brand new pastor—is to plant churches all throughout these regions.

God is just using the leaders of Asian Access to really invest in people like this who will be making a powerful kingdom difference for the future.

Isn’t that's exciting?
