Ten years ago, Pastor Paul started a church, and for the past three of those ten, he’s been part of Asian Access in a South Asian country. He’s now planted eight churches from that first church plant but he learned something profound the last few years that will impact his ministry for years to come.
As Pastor Paul was sharing his strategy paper, he said:
“A relationship without God is like a fish out of water.”
Paul was referring to serving as a pastor without the life-giving connection to Jesus himself. He said, this is what energizes you and gives you new power as you serve in ministry.
The strategy Pastor Paul plans to employ after going through A2 the last few years includes the following:
- Every church should plant one
- Every member should reach one
- Every member to read the Bible
- Every church member should share the gospel every day
What a great strategy! But, most important of all is how vital our walk with Jesus is. Without Him, we are nothing as we learn in John 15. For us at Asian Access this is a foundational truth. We strive to see every alumnus living for a lifetime in a love relationship with God.
Without that source of life, we’ll be like a fish out of water.
I trust you’ve gained some wisdom from Pastor Paul today… Run to Christ and live in Him.
May you experience Christ’s presence today and learn to live daily in a love relationship with God!
