A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of attending my first Love Sonata in Sapporo. It’s an evangelistic event held 2-4 times per year here in Japan inspired and led by Onnuri Church from Seoul, Korea.
It was inspiring as you’ll likely see from the pictures posted here. And, if you’d like to watch the entire event, you can on YouTube here.
The event included church seminars, a Gospel Night to rally people to bring friends, a CEO Forum for leaders and finally the amazing Love Sonata evening. It was spectacular. Many fine artists: dancers, musicians, and others performed with the hope of sharing the love of Jesus.
Pastor Jaehoon Lee from Onnuri then presented a compelling message.
Fun for me to experience was not just the event, even though that was stunning. It was great to see so many Asian Access friends. Many of them were involved in the planning and several will be hosting the upcoming events later this year and next. In addition, hearing Bill Hwang from Archegos Capital share his values at the CEO Forum was inspiring as well.
Pray for these gatherings as I believe they have significant potential. To see Koreans and Japanese people loving on one another, overcoming the history of pain and abuse, is a testimony to the power of God’s grace. I hope I can participate in more of these as my colleagues across Japan are engaged on so many levels. Plus, my good friends from Onnuri Church are the catalysts.
What a joy to see so much love for Japan. This is a country that so needs the hope of Jesus and these Love Sonata gatherings are building momentum. Please keep them in your prayers!
And, thank you Onnuri Church and Pastor Jaehoon Lee for your investment of time to bring the hope of Christ to Japan! You are carrying the torch of Pastor Ha who fanned the flame of love for Japan in starting this movement.
I praise God for all of you!
