Not long ago, one of our national directors was sharing about visiting a leading pastor in his nation. He was visiting to see if they could work together toward human rights in the nation. They are a country whose Christian population is constantly scrutinized and often persecuted for their faith.
He went not knowing what this well-known pastor might say. In fact, he wasn’t even sure he’d be willing to help because often churches like this one, led by this pastor can become insular focused exclusively on their own congregation.
However, this day, the famous pastor said to the Asian Access country director,
“Your church is like a factory. You produce leaders for our nation right and left. I’d be happy to help out.”
This famous pastor realized something very important. As we invest in the "Timothys" around us, they multiply and bless the community, the region and sometimes the nation. In this case, my colleague has produced dozens, if not hundreds, of other leaders who are blessing his nation, including this famous church.
He is Changing the Few who Change the Many.
Because of Asian Access, he is implementing 2 Timothy 2:2, one of my life verses:
“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
Today there is a people movement in his nation… As you and I invest in others, they will multiply and bring transformation to their communities. For us at Asian Access: Small is Big. As one of my colleagues shares,
“We are slow. We are small. But, we are strategic.”
Do you want to see change in your family, your community, your city or your nation. Start small. Work slowly. And, invest in others. Pass along what God has given to you and you’ll begin to see significant change in your life and in your ecosystem.
