Hello, Everyone! We just wanted to take a moment and wish you all a Happy Easter. And we are glad to be with you this year. We know most of you, like us, are facing social isolation—stuck at home—not able to see your family. But we wanted you to know how much we appreciate you.
Updates from Across Asia
It's been a unique year. I was just on the phone with most of our national directors the other day, hearing what's happening in their countries and much of the news is just devastating—lives lost, people trying to reach out, scrambling, opening their churches to be relief centers, handing out supplies... It's a bit overwhelming.
On the other hand, resurrection hope is there in the midst of the trials and challenges. A few of the countries we work in reported near revivals happening, people coming to Christ and gatherings on videos like this. It was stunning to listen to.
And so, we go into this Easter weekend with the hope of Christ, even though these are challenging days. It sort of reminds me of Good Friday and Easter Sunday. You know Good Friday was one of the darkest days in history. And yet, just three days later, Jesus rose from the grave and gave us new life in him.
So we celebrate Easter this year. And we just want to say how grateful we are for you. Thank you for praying, for supporting us, for partnering with us. And we hope that you have a joyful Easter season.
An Easter Prayer
And if I could just pray for us...
We acknowledge that you are the risen Christ. So we praise you, and I lift up all of our friends around the world and just pray that they would experience your grace your peace and even in these dark times that they would also experience your provision. Thank you, Lord, for this special time in history that we can lean on you and look to you.
In your Holy Name,
Amen. Happy Easter, our Friends! Christ is risen!
He is risen, indeed.
With Resurrection Hope,
Joe & Silk Handley
