Highlighting the Heromakers Movement

A new movement is afoot and I trust you’ll not only follow the snowballing momentum, but that you’ll dive in and become all that God has called you to be.

nichols laurie 2020My friend Laurie Nichols recently stepped out on her own to launch the Heromakers Movement and highlight the stories of people who have risen above the fray to shine the light of Christ in our world. I’m so proud of Laurie. I worked with her while she served at the Billy Graham Center at Wheaton College and it took a ton of courage for her to take this leap of faith, especially during a year like this. Shout out to heromakers like you, Laurie!

Jesus says, “You are the light of the world.” (Matthew 5:14) and indeed he has called us to be game-changers and heromakers, whether we are soccer moms or engaging some of the darkest challenges our world is facing. Laurie’s new venture highlights this critical call and she exhorts that all of us can step out in faith to exhibit this high calling.

In high school, God called me into a life of ministry but I avoided it like the plague. Why? Because I was afraid. I didn’t believe in myself and I was deathly afraid of public speaking. I was one of those people whom Laurie is trying to reach today. Thank God that a friend invited me on a mission trip that turned my life around. That friend was and is a heromaker! God used him to inspire and build me up so that I could be who God wanted me to be.

heromaker traitsSo, like Laurie, I encourage you to check out this movement and see how God might want to use you. You are indeed “the light of the world” and Jesus can use you. Step out in faith and explore the Heromaker Movement website to learn about the nine hero traits.

In essence, that’s who we are at Asian Access: Heromakers! Our call is to be like John the Baptist who said, “He must increase and I must decrease.” and live like Barnabas to empower others who are the Apostle Paul’s of our day.

Kudos to you, Laurie. I’m proud of you! You inspire me and challenge us to live into the high calling God has for us.
