Merry Christmas Everyone,
I’ve been enjoying watching and listening to several advent messages this season and this one by Asian Access friend Leighton Ford caught my attention. It was such a good reflection for 2020 that I asked him permission to share it with you. He promptly responded, “I’d be pleased, Joe.”
I trust you enjoy this important Christmas message as much as I have.
On behalf of Silk and everyone at Asian Access, God bless you, and may you have a very Merry Christmas!

The Advent Gift of Joy
A Christmas Message from Leighton Ford
Leighton Ford encourages us to remember what joy is all about.
When I was first asked to share a Sunday Extra message on joy, I hesitated. After all, there doesn't seem to be much joy around these days.
Then I thought, "well, isn't this the time to remember what joy is all about?"
At the Last Supper, Jesus told his followers, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy" (John 16:20, ESV).
What is your pain today? There is so much pain in the world. What is your pain? And, where is your joy?
Please join me today as we explore joy with examples from Scripture, C.S. Lewis, Dr. Francis Collins, and my Jeanie (we're celebrating our 67th wedding anniversary).
May the joy of Jesus Christ, and the fruit of the Holy Spirit, be in you and through you.
His joy!

HYMN: JOY TO THE WORLD
"Joy to the World," performed by the George Fox University music department.
Joy to the world! the Saviour reigns;
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.
