samson song grace 1I’m excited to announce the most recent leader to join the Asian Access Council of Reference.

Grace Samson-Song is someone I met during my research on Polycentric Mission Leadership. The insight she offered related to leadership and the Lausanne Movement was most helpful and as you look at Grace's story and background, you’ll see the wisdom and experience that flows from one who follows Christ deeply and knows what it takes to lead well in the present environment.

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
— Hebrews 10:24-25

A2 Prayer Meetings

This past year, our Asian Access family has been meeting monthly for prayer in addition to our online cohorts and those few countries who are actually able to meet in person. In the face of the pandemic, we are learning to live out the wisdom of this passage from Hebrews as we are such a community-driven ministry.

The last few years, the idea of leadership has taken a beating. Whether it’s the critique of “elites” in our cultures or the overuse of the word leadership by various training and educational institutions. In many ways I agree with these concerns and it is why Asian Access does what it does in focusing on Christ, Character, and Servant Leadership.

Myanmar (MNN) — Myanmar’s military is using increasing force against protestors, prompting warnings from the United Nations. Local church leaders who partner with Asian Access fear collapse.

Myanmar (MNN) — Amid an intensifying crackdown, Myanmar’s military pushes for a new cybersecurity law to keep citizens in the dark. Meanwhile, Asian Access supports local Christian leaders as they shine Christ’s light in their communities.

Japan (MNN) — Nearly ten years ago, a powerful 8.9 magnitude earthquake unleashed a massive tsunami near Fukushima, Japan. 20,000 people died and over 100,000 evacuated after three nuclear reactors suffered damage and melted down, releasing radioactive materials into the environment. Read more about the ongoing effects of the catastrophe here.

Nepal (MNN) — In the face of anti-conversion laws that have targeted Christians for many years, Nepalese believers hold tight to the Gospel.

Myanmar (MNN) — Governments around the world have condemned the Myanmar coup. The military took control of the country on Monday, disregarding the democratic process. Now, police have charged the elected leader of Myanmar, Aung San Suu Kyi, as a justification for holding her. The charge? Illegally possessing and importing walkie talkies.

Myanmar (MNN) — The military of Myanmar has staged a coup, detaining several senior politicians. Internet, phone, and television access were blocked around the capital of Naypyitaw.
