Honor Ron McMahon by giving to his memorial fund
Ron McMahon, who faithfully served as our board of directors chair for 23 years, passed into eternity on May 2, 2022.
We are greatly saddened by the loss of such a great man and friend. We will miss him tremendously. Yet we rejoice that Ron is now with his Lord Jesus Christ.
Ron's beloved wife Maureen wants to honor his love for Asian Access by setting up a memorial fund in memory of his longstanding service on our board of directors. Funds given toward the Ron McMahon Memorial Fund will be directed toward developing more leaders through Asian Access.
Enjoy these photos of Ron...
Thank you for considering a gift to honor our good friend Ron McMahon. May the Lord bless you richly.
With Christ,
Rev. Joseph W. Handley, Jr., Ph.D.
President, Asian Access

Heaven’s Gain: Ron McMahon emeritus board chair joins Jesus
It is with a heavy heart that I share that my friend and Asian Access emeritus board chairman passed away last week. While we know Ron is in a much better place, it still saddens us this side of heaven. I met Ron a little over 14 years ago when he interviewed me in Irvine, CA as a candidate to serve as president for Asian Access. The synergy from the very beginning was clear. I could tell that this was a man of great wisdom, strength of character, and warm heart. Just a few hours together and I sensed his welcome to the Asian Access family, even though we still needed to walk through the process of getting to know the senior staff and interviewing with the board. I’m so glad the board took a risk on me for this post and that Silk and I had the faith to step into the unknown...
A Lifetime Appointment
At our October meeting, the Asian Access board unanimously and enthusiastically elected Ron McMahon to serve as the lifetime honorary chairman of our board. It was a deeply meaningful time together as we reflected on Ron's 23 years as our chairman. Because of Ron's great leadership, we are well on our way to celebrating 50 years of ministry in 2017. Prior to Ron's tenure, only one other chairman, Carlton Booth, led the way for us. It is amazing to have such longevity at the helm of a mission. We are blessed by the stability that both Ron and Carlton have given Asian Access. With this new appointment, Ron will continue to have a strategic role in the life of our mission. He will be an advisor to our president, Joe Handley, and to our new chairman, Phil Foxwell...
Great is Thy Faithfulness
Former Asian Access chairman Ron McMahon shared the classic hymn Great is Thy Faithfulness with the Asian Access board last week during our recent board meetings. Ron reminded us how fitting this hymn was to the life of Asian Access and to our own lives as well. Some of you may know that Ron faced a devastating stroke a decade ago that has been a challenge in his own life. Yet, in spite of his struggles, he reminds us how God’s faithfulness carries us through the storms and trials of life...
An Amazing Legacy, A Devastating Setback...
Ron McMahon is a world changer. A Southern California native and USC graduate, Ron launched his own architectural and planning firm, then moved into real estate development. His business achievements have spanned several decades and have covered the globe. But Ron has also been committed to his community—and to Jesus. He has served on many boards, including the YMCA and the Rancho Santa Fe Foundation. But what we like best is that he devoted more than 30 years of his life to the board of Asian Access. For 23 of those years, he served as board chairman and now serves as lifetime honorary chairman. The benefits that A2 has gained from Ron’s wisdom, godly leadership, and Kingdom heart are incalculable...
